About the unit

The new Dalegarth Renal Unit at the West Cumberland Hospital, has replaced the existing Renal Unit at the Cockermouth Community Hospital, which provided the service over the last 30 years. The new unit has increased from 3 stations to 7 and covers a wider geographical area which will benefit patients who have to travel long distances, especially those living south of Whitehaven.

Patients who attend this unit are in general good health and medically stable, with the attendance of a Sister, Staff Nurses and a Healthcare Assistance who have the back up of the multi disciplinary team from the Carlisle Renal Unit.

We are open Monday to Saturday

7.00am to 19.30pm
Two shifts
7 stations
